Business Community Concept

Canna-Hub Business Park Concept

The Canna-Hub Business Community concept was created by Canna-Hub founder and CEO Tim McGraw. The passage of adult use cannabis legislation in California and an overhaul of the state’s existing medical cannabis program has sparked a California land rush for business owners seeking to be compliant in this new regulatory environment. Identifying the crucial role that properly zoned real estate for cannabis operations plays in potential operators’ ability to obtain a cannabis business license in California inspired Tim to create Canna-Hub Business Communities, or “cannabis hubs.” Tim’s vision consisted of a designated area where various types of licensees can enjoy the numerous benefits of proximity – and now that vision has become a reality as the Company continues to announce new sites throughout California that are available for lease commitments. Canna-Hub’s community-centered approach to development means that operators can quickly become operational as the Company works closely with local legislators to receive proper zoning and offer some of the lowest permitting fees in the state.

Benefits Abound

For instance, a manufacturer that must have products third-party tested can utilize a testing lab within the cannabis hub, rather than shipping product out to be tested to a lab that may be miles away (which is costly and time consuming). An edibles company in the same community can then purchase the third-party tested product for use in its own products. Real synergies. Real savings. Canna-Hub offers a one-of-a-kind industrial cannabis community.

Entitlement Process

While pursuing his licenses in Illinois, Tim had a unique understanding of the challenges involved in the local entitlement process as well as the real estate requirements of an operator in the cannabis industry. He realized then that the best way to go about it was to engage first with local communities and government officials before looking for property.

Shared Facilities

Rather than undertaking the massive challenge of obtaining local zoning approval on a one-off basis for individual licensees, Tim envisioned a single location that could serve as the home for numerous cannabis licensees of all types, or a cannabis hub. A Canna-Hub Business Community provides a symbiotic environment of licensed cannabis operators and a strong relationship between the operators and the host city.

The Canna-Hub business model allows licensees to move quickly through the construction phase to become operational, offers real cost saving synergies through the proximity to other interdependent licensees, and establishes the lowest local permitting fees in the state.

At the same time, the host city is a very willing and accommodating partner given the job creation and general economic stimulus, and with all cannabis related business activity confined to a single and secure location, compliance monitoring by both state and local authorities is easier and more effective.
